

According to the historians, rickshaw was first introduced to the people of Dhaka just before the partition of 1947. Though the rickshaws of Dhaka city are more popular for their entire design work, it was first introduced at Chattogram. With time rickshaw became popular all over Bangladesh. At the same time rickshaw painting has made its unique identity with its unique way of expression. What started with a view to attract more people with colorful rickshaws has now become an ambassador of our culture & heritage. Recently UNESCO recognized rickshaws of Dhaka & rickshaw paintings as intangible cultural heritage.
