- Rangamati is situated at the side of Kaptai Lake, that’s why it is considered as the ‘Lake City’ of Bangladesh. Kaptai lake was made in 1960 dotted with island
- Rangamati is the largest district in Bangladesh (6,116.3 sq km)
- Rangamati is the only district in Bangladesh with international borders with two countries: India and Myanmar
- Chakma, Marma, Tonchongya, Tripura, Murong, Bome, Khumi, Kheyang, Chak, Pankhoa, and Lusai etc. Tribal Villages are inhabited in Rangamati.
- Boisabi Utsab, is the biggest traditional festival of indigenous people in Rangamati. The festival has different names among the tribes. The Chakma people call it “Biju”, Tanchangya call it “Bishu”, Tripura call it “Boisu”, and Marma call it “Sangrai”. The word “Boisabi” is a combination of the Bangla acronyms for an assortment of indigenous festivals, like “Boishuk” of the Tripura community, “Sangrai” of the Marma community, and “Biju” of the Chakma community
